INDIGENOMICS –
MODERN INDIGENOUS ECONOMIC DESIGN

Indigenomics is a dialogue and design platform to bring attention and focus to the growing Indigenous Economy. It is through dialogue and connecting that solutions based collaborations can occur to address the challenges and overcome systemic economic barriers.

EVENTS

Follows key trends in the growing Indigenous economic landscape, Indigenomics events are set against the backdrop of the emerging 100 billion dollar annual Indigenous economy. The Indigenomics Institute hosts a series of signature Indigenous economy events throughout the year. These sold out events offer insights into business innovation, designing partnerships, tools, resources, leadership and pathways towards economic reconciliation outcomes. The Institute builds powerful agendas to advance key trends in Indigenous business.

#INDIGENOMICS is an invitation to build the partnerships, knowledge, tools and actions needed to advance the emerging 100 billion Indigenous economy.

Indigenomics Scholarship Program

In 2021, the Institute founded the Indigenomics Scholarship Program. The Indigenomics Scholarship program is inspired by the words of the Honourable Murray Sinclair, Chief Commissioner for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission ‘Education is the key to reconciliation. Education got us into this mess, and education will get us out of it.’

As a part of each Indigenomics hosted event, an Indigenous student in business, economics, or commerce is selected with assistance from the Host Nation or region.

Vancity has partnered with Indigenomics to support this initiative as well as the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada for the 2023 Indigenomics on BAY STREET event.
